Smile

Freedom is when our fears stop ruling us.  Smile and let go !  :-)

Peace

To be at peace is the only pursuit. Everything else is a distraction.  Vipanchi

Creeping anxiety

It is painful, to be trapped in this cage of anxiety.  I can see the pleasant hues standing by my door.  I go out occasionally, only to be thrown in,  Into this all encompassing darkness, of cold blood and fear!  It is not pleasant.  It is painful. Vipanchi

The Tombstone

She smiled back at the handsome young man, Thus started, a beautiful love story ! Hi!  I’m the parrot. I narrate this story.  ‘I love you’ said the young man, The girl was waiting for this moment.  They looked cute together.  Love makes life beautiful. Isn’t it? She smiled as he approached her,  He embraced her in a loving hug.  His presence made her beautiful and fragile.  Or, is it making her weak and vulnerable? Days passed, they got married. She moved in with him,  Everyday, she cooks, he kisses her on the forehead, They leave for work.   Wow! Love is caring for each other.  [one day, I was picking up some twigs, heard a loud voice. It’s the man. He clearly seems frustrated with his work] He was shouting at the top of his voice.  Um.. the lady spilt coffee on his computer.  She was sorry, clearly repenting on her carelessness.  After all, she should be careful. But, she never looked irritated. She must be perfect. They...

Untill

Stepping down that big boulder,  I held your hand. Climbing up that steep hill, I took your support. When the roadside goons stared at me, I held on to you. In the dark street, on that cloudy night, I clasped your arm. I remember leaning on your shoulder after a tiresome day. I remember hugging you tight after that happy vacation. I remember trusting you with my body and soul, Till you tore my-self piece by piece. I remember you as my world,  Till I realised your world doesn't know me.

Dance of Love

The wind was swift, trees waved to each other. Falling leaves danced in air and, flowers blossomed with freshness. The pretty girl smiled, looking at the vast blue sky. “What's the news?"asked the restless pegion, The cuckoo sang an empty tune. Galloping squirrels cared nothing and the setting sun waved a good bye. The pretty girl smiled, staring at the gate.  “What's the news!" the grass got curious.   Rabbits left their carrots and hopped into the thick green bushes. Little pups were least interested. They played with their cute new toys. “Someone's here!"shouted the pegion. Tall and handsome, a boy from the beautiful city approached the pretty girl. He smiled and took her hand. As the girl looked into his eyes,  he gave her a gentle kiss. “Ah! The dance of love!"giggled everyone.

Tough Times

Locked up in home,  Not enough work to do, Or not enough interest in work, I give in to the boredom. The hot day fades into a dark night welcoming cool breezes. Wondering if this ever ends,  I sleep like a baby, under the limitless sky. The news rooms are loud, People around are confused and hopeless, Warriors at the frontline are fighting the scary enemy. I give in to spine chilling fear. The hot day fades in to dark night, welcoming cool breezes. Wondering if this ever ends, I sleep like a baby, under the limitless sky.  The world fell apart like mist in sunshine. Uncertainty eclipsed human kind like a thick blanket of darkness. It gets tough to breathe and a life is taken forever. I give in to faith. The hot day fades in to a dark night, welcoming cool breezes.  Wondering if this ever ends, I sleep like a baby under the limitless sky. Creativity yells at my lousy mind, Happiness beggs my attention. Love misses my presence, but, Hope just caught hold of me. This to...

Understanding Inequality

Economic disparity is the unequal distribution of wealth and opportunity between different groups vis., Society, ethnic group, community or a country. Inequalities are pronounced to this day in the form of economic, social, cultural, ethnic and gendered previlage vs deprivation. Various reports including the Human development report, world inequality report etc., capture the larger picture in the status of economic inequality on a global scale. Approximately, top one percent of the population hold 50 percent of the global wealth. Economic disparity - implications :  Let's ask some questions to understand this better. 1. What happens if the top one percent hold large portions of wealth?  It means, while a kid cries for food, another one owns a personal iPad. While a girl struggles to go to school, another boy affords a medical seat in top notch college with zero merit. While elections seem to offer fair chance to every citizen, the rich can bribe anything and get to the top. In...

In the mind of a poet

If thought refuses to progress, stuck by sickening grief. If words refuse to articulate, the defeaning noice in mind. I put my pen down. I submit my defeat to the lord of words. If the page rejects to maifest into  a mosaic of thoughts. If ink refutes the flow of beautiful ideas. I put my pen down. I submit my defeat to the lord of words. If the emptiness of  life encroach upon my pristine space. If the confusions of mind occupy my beautiful corner, I put my pen down. I submit my defeat to the lord of words. If worry blurrs the idea,  like anxiety seizing life. If falsity takes over truth, like avarice engulfing authenticity. I put my pen down. I submit my defeat to the lord of words. Vipanchi

A Call to Self

When my interest in life wanes, When happy and sad cease to make Sense, When smiling is an effort,  And crying offers no solace, Dear hope, come to me with your grace. When silence gets tough to bear, When noise just mutes my fear, When eyes stop smiling at your sight, And heart shuts to feeling your presence, Dear love, come to me with your cheer. When days are lighter with no energy, When nights are longer with no sleep, When life is stuck in despair,  When death offers deliverance, Dear life come to me with your promise. When the cage feels tough to break, When the troubles are no little hills, When I question my usefulness, And doubt my dreams, Dear self, come to me like a baby. Let's grow up. Yet again!

The Nomad's Land

As I embarked on this journey, Plants and flowers, bees and birds danced along to the tunes of love. Rising sun and sparkling sky, smiling moon and shining stars invited me to the eternal embrace! Strolling by those green fields,  I was lost in the warmth of your presence. You took my hand, while the cool breeze kissed my cheeks. I got caught up in the nomad's spell! The mountains were standing still  listening to my mind's whisper. While the Swift river paid no heed, you rowed us to the bank, my dear lover! I wished for a joyous forever, And the temple bells sounded blessings. I got caught up in the nomad's spell! As we kissed like the loving birds, The pillars, admired in history, watched us with their curious glimpse. The littlebig boulders, whispered to each other with a pixie smile. I wished for an eternity of this bliss. I got caught up in the nomad's spell! As the journey goes on, Your absence is as beautiful a...

The essential question

What are you?  My intense need for love  Or the love itself? What am I? Your playful need for pleasure  Or the pleasure itself? Where is love?  In your happy presence  Or  Your meaningful absence? Where is Love? In my childlike smile  Or my seductive body? How can I touch you When I can't feel your soul? How dare you! To touch me when you can't  hear my whisper? How can I love you, when I  fear losing myself? How do you love me when you are happy  in feeding desire!

Warrior Queen

I just returned from the hunt, The wild boar left bruises on my body. The jungle is not a fair place to be, Just like life, forest is full of mystery. Beauty and danger co-exist like a deceptive blend. I am trained to look like a hawk, hear like a bat and hunt like a lioness. I am trained to wield sharp weapons and fight fierce battles. I am the warrior queen of a land, heard about, across the seas. I am the ruler of a kingdom expanding ever since the dawn of human kind. I looked into the mirror, I saw a girl standing before me, Coy and beautiful! She's clad in muslin, her hair set loose. She looked like an ancient Arab princess waiting for her king. I snickered at my innocent longing for a knight king. Warrior queens, they say, are not destined for a normal life, rather, not destined for love. How is an inherent human emotion a hindrance to anybody's existence? I believed, Love gives me courage to fight fiercest of the battles, Love gives me energy and ...

Quest for love

I landed on the shores of a thick jungle, green and beautiful, dancing in harmony; I ventured in, tasting the nectars of wilderness, I breathed in, the beautiful scents of forests; As I gulped the virgin waters, I submitted my ego to the giver of life. My soul wanders in search of love; As it passes by the majestic fortress, I question, 'Is this where I belong?' The answer lies in the long wait, my dear! I landed on the golden sands of an impressive desert, clad in emptiness. The silence sent ripples of fear down my throat, Hissing of the rattle snakes offered me peace, howling wolfs were my cronies;  I submitted my foolishness to the king of nights. My soul wanders in search of love; As it passes by the majestic fortress, I question, 'Is this where I belong? ' The answer lies in the long wait, my dear! I landed on the sprawling markets of a great city, built of gold. I tasted richly brewed wine, and touched the marvellous chains of emeralds and pearl...

By the Majestic Sea

As I sat down, tired of the long walk, you moved on with the little one of ours, hopping on the pristine sands, by the sea. The birds danced to the tune of the winds, fishermen hummed along . You were with your boy, collecting shells and pebbles.  The mud forts you built for him reminded me of the beautiful dreams, we dreamt. The tenderness of our little one reminded me of a young man who cared for me through thick and thin. As the waters of the majestic sea touched my feet, I thanked the lord of destinies for blessing me with you.  The smile on the face of our little one reminded me of the confident man who touched the depths of my soul.  The footprints on the pristine sands reminded me of the love that held me close as we walked through darkness and light.  As the waters of the majestic sea touched my feet, I thanked the lord of destinies for blessing me with you.  Looking at the father in you, I thought of the man who showed me wonders...

A Beautiful Evening

Your touch sparked a wave of memories in my head. All the noise, the noise of expectations, problems, and challenges, the noise of  agony, rejection, and failure got silenced. I was deafened to them. All I wanted was to be in you, consuming the warmth of your hug. Amid all of this, you grabbed me towards you, I was lost in diffidence! That soft touch of you, reminded me of the awesomeness of my smile, long lost! It reminded me of the innocent self that I were, aiming at the Everest, still happily hopping at the river side. It reminded me of the child I were, crying out loud when in pain, laughing out louder when in joy. I began to wonder, when did I lose myself in this babel. Amid all of this, You grabbed me towards you, I was lost in diffidence! It was a beautiful evening, up on the hill, calm and serene. The composure of the lake reminded me of the beauty of silence, that my soul yearned for. I missed out on looking at the colourful birds perching on th...

A river's cry

I am a river, I flow by the slope. I travel through mighty mountains, cross thick and rich jungles. I give life to many creatures, small and big. Now, I am dying. Birds singing, fish dancing, children playing, What a beautiful home I was! Great civilizations flourished in my lap, What a life-giver I was! Now I am dying. I am the holy mother, some say. I am the abode of gods, some believe. Celebration or cremation, I am there, always! But, I look like a monster, smelling of dirt. Now, I am dying. I used to nourish green forests by my side. Now, I see all of my beloved is dying. I am unable to get rid of the hyacinth. It is all over me, suffocating everything in me. Forests nurtured me, I nourished them. We welcomed every creature, supported every being. Now we are dying. I am the Ganga, the Adayar, the Musi, I am every river you use, I am every river that carries tonnes of plastic to the seas. I am every river, that froths because of your ruthless release o...

The lover's heart

I am a battered soul scrambled by my own choices. Difficult times they were, Was yearning for a loving hug. Time and destiny are like parents to me. Time helps me forget, destiny has a plan for me already! Hope is my best friend. I am an eternal seeker of love and, I  searched for it in every passing cloud. Now, this moment, it feels like someone heard my heart's whisper, its need for love, its need to bleed and dance in the nectar, that is love! Ephemeral it can be, I've learnt to live in and with the moment. I love you for, you breathe, I love you for, you smile, I love you for, you are there. For I've learnt, love is to lose oneself in the fire, like the mother does. I've no fear, you can scramble me once again, I don't care...... To tell you the truth, there is a voice that tells me you care!

I own my thoughts

I am a free bird, I fly high! I try, I fail miserably  I have bruises all over I suffer and cry for the mistakes I make. But, I am a free bird, I fly high! I have dreams, I want happiness I know a bit, I want a lot. I try weird things fatal, they can be I fear, I lose but I get up and try, for, I am a free bird, I fly high! I make friends, some cute little birds like me. Monsters come along, who am I to judge? A little bird with innocent eyes! I laugh, I play, I love and I care. I run away, just in case! But, I am a free bird, I fly high! I make noise, the noise of my mind. Some like it, they call it music. My tunes change, I dance to the tunes, they call it confusion. I call it transformation, I call it life. I own my thoughts, I embrace them. For, I am a free bird, I fly high!

Stranger in the Woods

Sitting by the river , all alone, I sing the song of pain. Back in the woods, a stranger with charming eyes showed me the path of love, heaven in itself! In a conscious vulnerability, I drowned letting every drop of it to touch me. Now sitting by the river, I sing the song of pain. A touch so tender and strong, made my soul roar. My mind danced to its tunes, happy and free Aha! This is life, I felt. Now, sitting by the river, I sing the song of pain. Clouds move with cold silence, river never cares, flows swiftly. While I listen to the music of nature, tears of pleasure and pain, drip down my cheeks. I stare at the forest, lost in thoughts. My heart shouts like a child's whisper " Dear stranger, please come back"
