The Nomad's Land

As I embarked on this journey, Plants and flowers, bees and birds danced along to the tunes of love. Rising sun and sparkling sky, smiling moon and shining stars invited me to the eternal embrace! Strolling by those green fields,  I was lost in the warmth of your presence. You took my hand, while the cool breeze kissed my cheeks. I got caught up in the nomad's spell! The mountains were standing still  listening to my mind's whisper. While the Swift river paid no heed, you rowed us to the bank, my dear lover! I wished for a joyous forever, And the temple bells sounded blessings. I got caught up in the nomad's spell! As we kissed like the loving birds, The pillars, admired in history, watched us with their curious glimpse. The littlebig boulders, whispered to each other with a pixie smile. I wished for an eternity of this bliss. I got caught up in the nomad's spell! As the journey goes on, Your absence is as beautiful a...

Warrior Queen

I just returned from the hunt, The wild boar left bruises on my body. The jungle is not a fair place to be, Just like life, forest is full of mystery. Beauty and danger co-exist like a deceptive blend. I am trained to look like a hawk, hear like a bat and hunt like a lioness. I am trained to wield sharp weapons and fight fierce battles. I am the warrior queen of a land, heard about, across the seas. I am the ruler of a kingdom expanding ever since the dawn of human kind. I looked into the mirror, I saw a girl standing before me, Coy and beautiful! She's clad in muslin, her hair set loose. She looked like an ancient Arab princess waiting for her king. I snickered at my innocent longing for a knight king. Warrior queens, they say, are not destined for a normal life, rather, not destined for love. How is an inherent human emotion a hindrance to anybody's existence? I believed, Love gives me courage to fight fiercest of the battles, Love gives me energy and ...

Quest for love

I landed on the shores of a thick jungle, green and beautiful, dancing in harmony; I ventured in, tasting the nectars of wilderness, I breathed in, the beautiful scents of forests; As I gulped the virgin waters, I submitted my ego to the giver of life. My soul wanders in search of love; As it passes by the majestic fortress, I question, 'Is this where I belong?' The answer lies in the long wait, my dear! I landed on the golden sands of an impressive desert, clad in emptiness. The silence sent ripples of fear down my throat, Hissing of the rattle snakes offered me peace, howling wolfs were my cronies;  I submitted my foolishness to the king of nights. My soul wanders in search of love; As it passes by the majestic fortress, I question, 'Is this where I belong? ' The answer lies in the long wait, my dear! I landed on the sprawling markets of a great city, built of gold. I tasted richly brewed wine, and touched the marvellous chains of emeralds and pearl...

A river's cry

I am a river, I flow by the slope. I travel through mighty mountains, cross thick and rich jungles. I give life to many creatures, small and big. Now, I am dying. Birds singing, fish dancing, children playing, What a beautiful home I was! Great civilizations flourished in my lap, What a life-giver I was! Now I am dying. I am the holy mother, some say. I am the abode of gods, some believe. Celebration or cremation, I am there, always! But, I look like a monster, smelling of dirt. Now, I am dying. I used to nourish green forests by my side. Now, I see all of my beloved is dying. I am unable to get rid of the hyacinth. It is all over me, suffocating everything in me. Forests nurtured me, I nourished them. We welcomed every creature, supported every being. Now we are dying. I am the Ganga, the Adayar, the Musi, I am every river you use, I am every river that carries tonnes of plastic to the seas. I am every river, that froths because of your ruthless release o...

I own my thoughts

I am a free bird, I fly high! I try, I fail miserably  I have bruises all over I suffer and cry for the mistakes I make. But, I am a free bird, I fly high! I have dreams, I want happiness I know a bit, I want a lot. I try weird things fatal, they can be I fear, I lose but I get up and try, for, I am a free bird, I fly high! I make friends, some cute little birds like me. Monsters come along, who am I to judge? A little bird with innocent eyes! I laugh, I play, I love and I care. I run away, just in case! But, I am a free bird, I fly high! I make noise, the noise of my mind. Some like it, they call it music. My tunes change, I dance to the tunes, they call it confusion. I call it transformation, I call it life. I own my thoughts, I embrace them. For, I am a free bird, I fly high!

Stranger in the Woods

Sitting by the river , all alone, I sing the song of pain. Back in the woods, a stranger with charming eyes showed me the path of love, heaven in itself! In a conscious vulnerability, I drowned letting every drop of it to touch me. Now sitting by the river, I sing the song of pain. A touch so tender and strong, made my soul roar. My mind danced to its tunes, happy and free Aha! This is life, I felt. Now, sitting by the river, I sing the song of pain. Clouds move with cold silence, river never cares, flows swiftly. While I listen to the music of nature, tears of pleasure and pain, drip down my cheeks. I stare at the forest, lost in thoughts. My heart shouts like a child's whisper " Dear stranger, please come back"
