Spreading education -Building future..............

Hello all This is a moment of extreme joy to me. This is a moment to cherish, a story to share!!! Let me jump into the topic........ Rabindranath Tagore dreamt of a world " where the Mind is without fear and knowledge is free".  That great Guruji gave us a vision, rather a mission. A mission that has the effect of a panacea to all the ills of our society when rightly understood and implemented. Most of the founding fathers, stalwarts, visionary leaders and common man and woman like YOU and ME, I guess, share this vision. The vision of an educated, enlightened India. BUT...... We sometimes cannot act, sometimes we fail in it and sometimes, we just don't take that idea seriously. We often complain about the state of things..... when we get time, not an offense, they are the genuine concerns. Sometimes we take up things, to change the way they are, but unfortunately, the world reflects our limitations and we end up there as was the case with me when...

Indian Education system-Should we rethink???

Education and its importance is something that doesn't need any explanation. However, it is something that is deliberately ignored in our country, by our people. And another problem is the present trend in most of the middle classes- an excessive focus on their child's education which often ends up in a disaster. The growth of an individual and his outlook on life, for a majority of people, is defined by their school days. The exceptional performance of one either good or bad, if we track down for clues, we can find them in one's school days. So what is the importance that we must attach to something that will have a direct bearing on...

One day in a school....

I dream of bridging the gap between rich and poor in access to quality education.I believe education can emancipate the masses from the mire of ignorance and poverty.I strongly hold the view that it is a quintessential aspect of human development.OK! let me not dwell too much into the virtues of education, which I will do in my subsequent posts. My aim in this post is to share my experience in a rural Indian school. A brief picture: That village is different from any conventional village with cement factories surrounding it-pollution at its peaks.Income disparities do exist, though caste differences are a little thinner. Most of the people of that village work in one of those factories. It has 4 primary schools one secondary school(govt run) and two private schools. My experience: I happened to visit one of those private schools. It's a newly born one with a very nominal fee. That school's correspondent has no experience with education. All he had was money, though little.The...
