What is that one thing that shows that you are growing? How can you understand about your growth as a person?
Is it professional achievement?
My answer is a big "NO".
I cannot leave an answer without explaining why, for I am a staunch believer in "reason".
For growth as a personality it is quintessential to understand your situation......your rank on the growth scale, so that you can improve upon it.Then ,"professional achievements" seem to be a very satisfactory answer to this question, but when you examine them in the long run, that will be proved wrong. For many professionally successful people, life is still unsatisfying, uninspiring and some times frustrating too.One of the reasons for this is they never last long, because any great achievement will be great until somebody challenges it.If someone accomplishes something bigger than that of yours the game is over. You will no more be great .
So the answer is "SEEKING INSPIRATION".The hard fact in life is that, it is a mixture of "'roses and thorns". Initially you may win ,you may be happy but the very next experience can be a challenging one, a risky one, an unhappy one.It may be a big failure. Then if you fear, get depressed,it ends you.But if you seek inspiration in failure ,in a challenge, you will grow .After a long time when you look back you will notice yourself to be far from that person you were.It is the way of managing failures, and succeeding more that your success makes you grow, to become THE GREAT.
In other case if you never met with an unhappy situation and you always win, does that mean you are at your perfect level? No.It shows your inability to take up greater challenges. When you take up bigger challenges, you need inspiration to face it.When you get inspired you win.Again a bigger challenge ,a bigger inspiration, a bigger victory!!
So, measure your growth by the frequency with which you seek better inspiration. It makes your souls grow.
