Warrior Queen

I just returned from the hunt, The wild boar left bruises on my body. The jungle is not a fair place to be, Just like life, forest is full of mystery. Beauty and danger co-exist like a deceptive blend. I am trained to look like a hawk, hear like a bat and hunt like a lioness. I am trained to wield sharp weapons and fight fierce battles. I am the warrior queen of a land, heard about, across the seas. I am the ruler of a kingdom expanding ever since the dawn of human kind. I looked into the mirror, I saw a girl standing before me, Coy and beautiful! She's clad in muslin, her hair set loose. She looked like an ancient Arab princess waiting for her king. I snickered at my innocent longing for a knight king. Warrior queens, they say, are not destined for a normal life, rather, not destined for love. How is an inherent human emotion a hindrance to anybody's existence? I believed, Love gives me courage to fight fiercest of the battles, Love gives me energy and ...

Quest for love

I landed on the shores of a thick jungle, green and beautiful, dancing in harmony; I ventured in, tasting the nectars of wilderness, I breathed in, the beautiful scents of forests; As I gulped the virgin waters, I submitted my ego to the giver of life. My soul wanders in search of love; As it passes by the majestic fortress, I question, 'Is this where I belong?' The answer lies in the long wait, my dear! I landed on the golden sands of an impressive desert, clad in emptiness. The silence sent ripples of fear down my throat, Hissing of the rattle snakes offered me peace, howling wolfs were my cronies;  I submitted my foolishness to the king of nights. My soul wanders in search of love; As it passes by the majestic fortress, I question, 'Is this where I belong? ' The answer lies in the long wait, my dear! I landed on the sprawling markets of a great city, built of gold. I tasted richly brewed wine, and touched the marvellous chains of emeralds and pearl...

By the Majestic Sea

As I sat down, tired of the long walk, you moved on with the little one of ours, hopping on the pristine sands, by the sea. The birds danced to the tune of the winds, fishermen hummed along . You were with your boy, collecting shells and pebbles.  The mud forts you built for him reminded me of the beautiful dreams, we dreamt. The tenderness of our little one reminded me of a young man who cared for me through thick and thin. As the waters of the majestic sea touched my feet, I thanked the lord of destinies for blessing me with you.  The smile on the face of our little one reminded me of the confident man who touched the depths of my soul.  The footprints on the pristine sands reminded me of the love that held me close as we walked through darkness and light.  As the waters of the majestic sea touched my feet, I thanked the lord of destinies for blessing me with you.  Looking at the father in you, I thought of the man who showed me wonders...

A Beautiful Evening

Your touch sparked a wave of memories in my head. All the noise, the noise of expectations, problems, and challenges, the noise of  agony, rejection, and failure got silenced. I was deafened to them. All I wanted was to be in you, consuming the warmth of your hug. Amid all of this, you grabbed me towards you, I was lost in diffidence! That soft touch of you, reminded me of the awesomeness of my smile, long lost! It reminded me of the innocent self that I were, aiming at the Everest, still happily hopping at the river side. It reminded me of the child I were, crying out loud when in pain, laughing out louder when in joy. I began to wonder, when did I lose myself in this babel. Amid all of this, You grabbed me towards you, I was lost in diffidence! It was a beautiful evening, up on the hill, calm and serene. The composure of the lake reminded me of the beauty of silence, that my soul yearned for. I missed out on looking at the colourful birds perching on th...

A river's cry

I am a river, I flow by the slope. I travel through mighty mountains, cross thick and rich jungles. I give life to many creatures, small and big. Now, I am dying. Birds singing, fish dancing, children playing, What a beautiful home I was! Great civilizations flourished in my lap, What a life-giver I was! Now I am dying. I am the holy mother, some say. I am the abode of gods, some believe. Celebration or cremation, I am there, always! But, I look like a monster, smelling of dirt. Now, I am dying. I used to nourish green forests by my side. Now, I see all of my beloved is dying. I am unable to get rid of the hyacinth. It is all over me, suffocating everything in me. Forests nurtured me, I nourished them. We welcomed every creature, supported every being. Now we are dying. I am the Ganga, the Adayar, the Musi, I am every river you use, I am every river that carries tonnes of plastic to the seas. I am every river, that froths because of your ruthless release o...

The lover's heart

I am a battered soul scrambled by my own choices. Difficult times they were, Was yearning for a loving hug. Time and destiny are like parents to me. Time helps me forget, destiny has a plan for me already! Hope is my best friend. I am an eternal seeker of love and, I  searched for it in every passing cloud. Now, this moment, it feels like someone heard my heart's whisper, its need for love, its need to bleed and dance in the nectar, that is love! Ephemeral it can be, I've learnt to live in and with the moment. I love you for, you breathe, I love you for, you smile, I love you for, you are there. For I've learnt, love is to lose oneself in the fire, like the mother does. I've no fear, you can scramble me once again, I don't care...... To tell you the truth, there is a voice that tells me you care!

I own my thoughts

I am a free bird, I fly high! I try, I fail miserably  I have bruises all over I suffer and cry for the mistakes I make. But, I am a free bird, I fly high! I have dreams, I want happiness I know a bit, I want a lot. I try weird things fatal, they can be I fear, I lose but I get up and try, for, I am a free bird, I fly high! I make friends, some cute little birds like me. Monsters come along, who am I to judge? A little bird with innocent eyes! I laugh, I play, I love and I care. I run away, just in case! But, I am a free bird, I fly high! I make noise, the noise of my mind. Some like it, they call it music. My tunes change, I dance to the tunes, they call it confusion. I call it transformation, I call it life. I own my thoughts, I embrace them. For, I am a free bird, I fly high!
